Intern- Civil Rights Advocate

Civil Rights Advocate
Embark on a meaningful internship experience with CAIR-Florida as a Civil Rights Advocate in our 2024 Summer Internship program. This role will provide you with hands-on experience in civil rights advocacy and defending the rights of the Muslim community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in intake and documentation of civil rights cases.
  • Support in investigating and responding to reports of discrimination.
  • Contribute to the preparation of legal correspondence and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Legal and Advocacy Teams.
  • Participate in community education initiatives on civil rights issues.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Law, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Interest in civil rights advocacy.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to CAIR-FL’s mission and values.

Time Commitment:
Internships typically last 10-12 weeks, depending on whether they are full-time or part-time. Full-time internships require a commitment of 35 hours per week, while part-time internships necessitate a commitment of 20 hours per week.

Stipend:
A stipend is provided for eligible students who do not receive course credit or external funding and possess lawful authorization to work.
