National Security Action Digital Communications Fellow

National Security Action is dedicated to advancing smart, progressive policies and addressing the challenges and opportunities facing the United States. Our focus leading up to the 2024 election is to highlight Republican vulnerabilities on foreign policy.


 

Position Overview

Join our team as a Digital Communications Fellow and contribute to advancing progressive policies in a fast-paced startup environment. This role requires proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Premiere Pro and Photoshop, experience managing social media accounts, and strong writing skills. Additionally, you will assist with traditional press activities such as managing press lists, drafting press releases, and preparing talking points. This position will preferably work in-person 1-3 days per week in our offices in Washington, DC but virtual candidates will be considered. While there is some flexibility on timing, we are looking for fellows to start in June and work through August on a part-time basis.


 

Fellow’s Duties

  • Create engaging content for various social media platforms.
  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and execute strategies.
  • Organize the social media content calendar and use analytics to track performance.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of social media campaigns.
  • Summarize research findings into memos and messaging materials for public distribution.
  • Provide support in a startup environment including media monitoring and administrative tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • We will consider candidates pursuing an undergraduate (rising juniors or above) or an advanced degree.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Capacity to work under deadline pressure and manage multiple projects.
  • Team-player mindset suited for a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with the confidence to contribute new ideas.

Compensation

National Security Action will provide a $5,000 stipend.
