Campus Compact for New Hampshire is a nonprofit organization guided by New Hampshire's colleges and universities that are committed to making a positive impact in New Hampshire communities. Our goal is to improve educational outcomes for New Hampshire students through P-20 collaborations. We partner with k-12 schools, community partners and businesses to support students in reaching their full potential. 

The Opportunity 

The Outreach Director plays a vital role for connecting students, caregivers, schools, and community partners to the activities happening at GEAR UP NH. The position will focus on ensuring the quality of programming at the community level and promoting a college and career focused message for students. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote college and career knowledge through a variety of communication efforts.
  • Oversee creation and dissemination of social media including podcasts featuring college and career knowledge. 
  • Develop active partnerships with community leaders and service groups.
  • Oversee caregiver and community outreach/involvement activities.
  • Attend presentations and workshops to provide logistical support and feedback to program staff.
  • Track and report event attendance. 
  • Collaborate with grant leadership on department planning, including new programs and annual budget.
  • Act as liaison with community partners in each school district.
  • Work with community partners to implement extended learning and summer opportunities for students.
  • Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, educational sessions, speakers, and resource fairs. 

Position, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven relationship building skills to support collaboration and partnership activities.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, school personnel, caregivers and community leaders. 
  • Knowledge of tracking, analyzing, and adjusting programs and processes as necessary. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and pay attention to details. 
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing needs and time pressures.
  • Excellent written, verbal and oral skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks. 
  • Proficiency in computer skills. 

Position Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field such as education, sociology, public administration, or related and three years’ experience, or, bachelor’s degree and five years relevant experience. 
  • Extensive experience working with parents, schools, and community organizations. 
  • Knowledge of NH resources for students and counselors. 
  • Direct experience working with underrepresented students.
