Common Sense Networks PBC is a kids media company that has been incubated by Common Sense Media, the nation's leading independent nonprofit organization devoted to helping kids and families thrive in a world of media and technology. Embracing the trusted position of Common Sense, Common Sense Networks creates and curates safe, age-appropriate, and engaging content for kids and families through various initiatives and partnerships.

Sensical is accessible and free to every family on all major OTT devices through an ad-supported app and branded FAST channels.

Internship Overview:

We are seeking an intern to support the team that manages our partnership with TikTok, specifically to support work related to TikTok for Younger Users (a version of TikTok for kids under 13). You are able to join our ten week internship starting mid May. *Start date & duration can be negotiated.*

Responsibilities: You will contribute toward ongoing and special projects aimed at evaluating and enhancing TikTok for Younger User. Your responsibilities could include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of kids’ media apps and experiences, focusing on elements such as content quality, UX, and features 
  • Supporting tasks related to short-form digital content development
  • Researching, tracking, and analyzing kids media and technology news, trends, and developments
  • Working with team on additional projects and/or duties as needed 

WHAT WE NEED TO SEE ON YOUR RESUME:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s program in a relevant field such as Media Studies, Education, or Child Development
  • Passion for digital media, technology, and child advocacy, with an interest in creating safe and enriching online experiences for kids
  • Strong research, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with TikTok and other short-form video and social media platforms that resonate with kids
