Production Intern

Sol de Janeiro is looking for beauty lovers to join our 2024 Summer Internship Program. Our goal is to provide an enriching and rewarding learning experience that will allow you to gain valuable opportunities to learn and grow, collaborate with your colleagues, and gain valuable hands on experience at our rapidly growing brand!

The Production Intern will gain hands-on experience in photo and video production while assisting our producers and studio manager with daily tasks. The ideal candidate is passionate about photography, video, and production, eager to collaborate and contribute to the success of our brand. This role will report into the Photo & Video Producer. This internship is based in our New York City Headquarters. The program dates are June 4th to August 20th (12 weeks). The pay range for this position is $16/hour.

The Production Intern will work on the following:

• Work closely with our production team to support the planning, coordination, and execution of photo and video shoots. This includes assisting with pre-production tasks, such as scheduling, artist sourcing and location scouting.
• Provide on-set support during photo and video shoots, ensuring that all equipment is set up and broken down properly, props are organized, and talent is comfortable. Assist with lighting, camera setup & breakdown, and other technical aspects.
• Assist with post-production tasks, including organizing and cataloging imagery, Learn industry-standards and techniques under the guidance of experienced retouchers and producers.
• Provide administrative support to the production team, including running daily errands (in and out of the studio), managing schedules, organizing files, and communicating with vendors and talent as needed.

Sol de Janeiro’s Internship Program requirements:

• You are a student at an accredited University or College
• You are local to the NYC area for a 12-week internship program
• You have interest in the business areas listed above with some relevant coursework, student clubs, and/or internship experience
• Excellent organizational, writing and communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint
