Pay Type: Non-Exempt, Hourly, Part-Time, Seasonal

Position Schedule: June - August (position may be shared)

Position Summary: Position will focus on coordinating Kids’ Tram summer activities. The schedule includes week, weekdays and/or weekends.


Essential Functions

  • Responsible for day of Kids’ Tram functions to ensure a successful experience for our guests.
  • Lead a wide variety of volunteers to provide a successful tram tour for our guests.
  • Arrange for Kids’ Tram to be delivered to the Transportation Center.
  • Deliver and setup props to the tram prior to first departure and put away at the end of the day.
  • Make sure appropriate signs are in place.
  • Process all tickets through ticketing system.
  • Trouble-shoot ticketing problems if necessary.
  • As needed, work with Admissions Desk staff to reconcile Kids’ Tram daily revenue.
  • Maintain schedule of Kids’ Tram drivers and narrators; arrange substitutions if necessary.
  • Update MODs and tram staff of changes or substitutions.
  • Handle guest complaints in a friendly, diplomatic, and empathetic manner
  • Monitor any maintenance issues that may arise.
  • Communicate problems to Tram Coordinator and Facility Maintenance.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Tram Coordinator or Guest Experience Manager.

Education and / or Qualifications preferred:

  • Education: High school diploma. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Experience: Prefer 2-3 years’ experience in customer service and/or hospitality field. Direct customer service contact with guests, comfortable presenting/speaking to groups of all ages, computer experience in Word and Excel helpful.
  • Skills/Knowledge/Licenses: Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Working Conditions: Basic mobility is expected in offices, grounds, and exhibition areas. Remaining stationary for long periods of time. Ability to observe details at close range and communicate information accurately with others. Engage in occasional object manipulation with or without assistance, and efficiently navigate the workspace to access essential resources. Manage lifting tasks, and ability to handle objects weighing up to 30 pounds with ease and regularity. Regularly operates in outdoor and challenging weather conditions.
