Inside Sales Specialist Intern Summer 2024

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Inside Sales Specialist Intern will provide internal support to the Key Account Manager(s) by coordinating sales-related activities between Modine and our customers. The Inside Sales Specialist Intern will provide support to Inside Sales Specialist for sales-related functions; in addition, assist customer account team with all pricing related matters for multiple different customers.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The candidate for this position should have excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills, good math capability, and computer skills (Excel and Word). The candidate must also have the ability to multi-task and prioritize their workloads.

The Inside Sales Specialist Intern is in training and the ISS Lead or assigned designee will review work until such time that the incumbent demonstrates proficiency in specific accountabilities.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the Key Account Manager to complete customer quotations in a timely manner. Understand how to process customer RFQ’s through GQRS system (as support) and use this tool to quote and release new programs.
  • Ensure that the account team is followingwork instructions and that appropriate approvals are obtained prior to quoting.
  • Respond to customer RFQ’s and change requests using various customer web based quote systems or completing quote and tooling transparencies. The internal customer team (Key Account Manager, Program Manager, and Engineering) will manage and provide input, assistance and agreement for all quotations as required.
  • Review initial purchase orders to ensure pricing accuracy, customer contracts/notifications, enter orders for Racine, request estimates, set pricing under Key Account Manager/Rep direction/supervision, quote, follow up with customers and internal Modine where deemed necessary.
  • Ensure copies of all contracts / terms that have been reviewed are saved in the appropriate customer file. If Modine has taken any exceptions to the contract, the exceptions should be saved with the contract on the same location.
  • Continually work with Modine’s estimating department and the plants to understand estimates, costs and BOM structures. This knowledge will allow the Inside Sales Specialist I to be prepared to discuss or answer questions if required by the customer or Key Account Manager.
  • Continually work with Credit Department, Key Account Manager, plants and Pricing Department to resolve customer and plant-related price issues that contribute to DSO. 
  • Acquire knowledge of Modine pricing system and guidelines for setting up and maintaining pricing.
  • Work closely with the Key Account Manager and customer to confirm that pricing has been accepted before the price catalog is updated.
  • Communicate with our manufacturing facilities on price changes.
  • Review the customer’s price contracts for accuracy.
  • Work with engineering to determine which part numbers will be set-up for service on all new programs. Request estimates for all parts, generate and submit quotes to customer. Release internal paperwork to ensure pricing, drawings and bills of material are set-up in our internal system.
  • Ensure tooling/development charges are invoiced to customer upon notification of PPAP approval from plant/engineering or based on previously agreed to invoicing timeline.
  • Assist the Manufacturing Engineer and/or Program Manager on tooling reconciliation projects as required by the customer. This task is completed at the time of PPAP and final invoice to customer for new or existing programs.
  • Maintain an up-to-date organized customer program/part file. The file will include history and ongoing items such as quotes, NPRs, CRs, pricing changes, acceptance and compliance to price changes.
  • Support customer communications and follow up activities related to 80-20 initiatives, economic price increases, force majeure events, tariffs, etc.

 

MISCELLANEOUS:

  • Attend customer team meetings and staff meetings.
  • Business casual dress code required unless otherwise directed by HR.
