General Marketing Intern

The Bleecker Street General Marketing Intern will gain exposure to all aspects of marketing for film at a fast-paced, creatively dynamic studio marketing department. The General Marketing Intern will work with both Social Media and Exhibition teams--respectively responsible for creative advertising, traditional media buying/planning, social media, digital outreach, promotional tie-ins, research, and company branding initiatives; and development and execution of in-theater marketing initiatives.

 

This internship is tailored for students with a desire to learn about both organic and paid social media, community management, and curating digital marketing content to reach audiences of multiple demographics. As well as domestic advertising and in-theater marketing, their function in the studio system and reaching audiences of multiple demographics. 

 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Learning how to manage social accounts throughout a film’s campaign, helping to oversee social media postings on all Bleecker Street platforms and research of competitive creative performance. 
  • Tracking and researching social campaigns and projects.
  • Managing outreach projects to research the in-theater landscape for potential opportunities.
  • Request or verify placement of materials and develop relationships with independently owned theaters to pitch and execute marketing strategies. 
  • Work with vendors to oversee material distribution and assist with departmental tracking and reporting documents. 
  • Track digital and social support and collect data across the exhibitor channels. 
  • Research and survey the in-theater landscape for potential opportunities, participate in brainstorms, and play an integral role in execution by managing theater outreach projects and developing relationships with theater personnel. 
  • Assist with the administrative responsibilities of the department.

 

 

Qualifications:

Bleecker Street interns must make a 90-day commitment and must be authorized to work in the U.S. They must commit to at least two full days per week (Monday, Wednesday or Thursday) and be enrolled at an accredited college or university, working towards an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. Interns must be at least 18 years of age and be a standing sophomore or above. Candidates should possess advanced Mac computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office and Internet research, preferably also with experience in Adobe Suite or Avid. Intern Candidates should show initiative and be open to learning. They must have in place a reliable way to commute to and from the office, work well in a professional office environment, and – last but not least – have a passion for movies.
