Mental Health Therapist

Essential Duties:

Schedule and complete of initial Mental Health Assessment for all mental health clients. This Mental Health Assessment shall be reviewed and approved by an Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts.

Construct and document a timely individualized treatment plan (ITP) in conjunction with the client, and their guardian, in the event they have a court-appointed guardian or are a minor, addressing the clinical needs identified in the assessment process, coordination of care and discharge planning needs. This ITP shall be reviewed and approved by an LPHA.

Provision of individual, group, couples/family counseling as driven by the needs identified in the assessment process and as indicated in the individualized treatment plan.

Crisis intervention when indicated including immediate coordination of indicated service given nature of crisis addressed.

Spend at least 50% of work time providing direct billable services.

 

 

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:00a - 3:30p) with flexibility to accommodate agency's needs

Work Location: 2630 S. Wabash Ave., Chicago, IL

Pay Rate: $43,860 - $46,808

Experience and Skills:

Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor’s degree in associated field required. Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related discipline from an accredited institution preferred.  The Mental Health Therapist is a Qualified Mental Health Professional [QMHP] who has the education, skills and experience to conduct a clinical assessment, develop a plan of treatment and provide treatment for a person with mental illness, under the supervision of a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts [LPHA].

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  State of Illinois licensure preferred but not required (i.e. Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker). In addition to the above licensure, IAODAPCA Certified Alcohol and Other Drugs Counselor certification or proven experience with substance use treatment preferred.  Clearances from CFS 689 Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System, and CFS 708-C Background Check for Non-Licensed Contract Staff.
