Multimedia Producer

The Multimedia Producer is a key member of the Multimedia team in University Marketing at William & Mary. University Marketing includes all William & Mary efforts to develop and execute marketing programs and campaigns that increase brand identity, perception and awareness across three core areas: enrollment, advancement and institutional reputation. William & Mary’s ability to flourish and advance as a preeminent university depends largely on our ability to drive competitive application and enrollment metrics, ensure long-term financial sustainability and raise W&M’s profile on a national and global scale.

The Multimedia Producer reports to the Associate Director/Production Manager in the Office of University Marketing. They direct and shoot video and multimedia productions using state-of-the-art video and audio equipment and provide a full range of media production, post-production, and delivery services for high-quality marketing projects. The Multimedia team serves to strengthen brand perception, student recruitment, alumni engagement and fundraising by creating video and multimedia content that engages, cultivates and educates local, national and international audiences. The videos & multimedia content positively impact revenue generation by increasing student applications and yield as well as increasing private support for William & Mary with thoughtful and strategic branding in support of institutional reputation.

The successful Multimedia Producer will be a proactive member of this talented and creative team which includes responsibilities for Marketing and Branding, Strategic Events, Strategic Communications and Project Management in three core areas: enrollment, advancement and institutional reputation. This is a hybrid position based in Williamsburg that offers a flexible work environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Several years (typically more than three) of progressive professional experience in videography or a related field as well as a portfolio that demonstrates very strong creative proficiency.
  • Experience with project development from inception to completion required demonstrated ability to lead project teams using an understanding of project scope, feasibility, timelines, milestones and dependencies.
  • Experience using video production equipment including cameras, video recorders, editors, lighting instruments and sound recording equipment.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud and other multimedia post-production software.
  • Experience in providing a full range of media production, post-production, and delivery services for high-quality multimedia projects in higher education, nonprofit or other environment. (Typically, 3+ years).
  • Artistic and strong story-telling skills with an understanding of how to create unique, accurate, informative and engaging content on a variety of subjects, scenes and events to support various communication mediums.
  • Excellent organizational, consulting, interpersonal, and communication skills, with evidence of on-going professional development.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and diverse work environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and superb analytical, problem-solving and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to develop videography that is fresh, engaging and impressive for students considering William & Mary to increase admissions.
  • Ability to create high-level video projects that communicate the university’s vision, and achievements to appeal to donors, alumni & prospective donors to increase revenue.

Preferred Qualifciations: 

  • Experience with audio equipment and live sound recording.
  • Experience with Drone operation.
  • Experience with script writing for productions.
  • Experience working in multimedia media for non-profit or higher education institutions.
