Technology Support Specialist

Pay Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time, Hourly

Position Summary: Deploy and update desktop fleet and software.  Assist staff and volunteers for PC setup, software and hardware needs, ongoing support and end user training. Assist in all aspects of technology events.  Multiple technology projects as assigned.  


Essential Functions

  • Setup, deploy, upgrade, recycling and asset management for PCs, Macs and other hardware
  • Setup of new users and train them how to use PCs, software, printers and phone system
  • Perform end user support and repair for PCs and Macs, printers, phone system, Windows, OSX, Office 365 and all other software programs within the organization
  • Technology for Events: Assist with the setup, testing and tear down of technology for multiple events throughout the year.  Provide onsite IT support during the events.
  • Assist in performing software and hardware installations, upgrades, migrations, maintenance, testing and roll out of new equipment or programs
  • Assist in the network management and the support and maintenance of the servers (including hyper-v virtual servers), switches, phone system, wireless systems, digital signage, backup, security systems, phone lines, T-1’s, fiber and cabling infrastructure
  • Assist the Director of Technology in meeting and maintaining the ongoing standards of PCI compliance
  • Work with the Technology team to assist in performing multiple technology tasks
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and / or Qualifications preferred:

  • Experience: 3 years of experience in software and hardware setup, support and troubleshooting
  • Skills/Knowledge/Licenses: Excellent people skills, Windows, Mac OSx, Windows Server, Hyper-V

Working Conditions: Basic mobility is expected in offices, grounds, and exhibition areas. Ability to observe details at close range and communicate information accurately with others. Engage in occasional object manipulation with or without assistance, and efficiently navigate the workspace to access essential resources. Manage occasional lifting tasks, and ability to handle objects weighing up to 10 pounds with ease and regularity and 25 pounds occasionally. Occasionally, may be required to work outdoors under inclement weather conditions. Office environment requires ability to operate computer and other office and audiovisual equipment, plus mobility in office, grounds and exhibition areas. Ability to multitask and work well under pressure. Regular interaction with guests. Perform the setup and tear down of equipment. Flexible work schedule including days, evenings, holidays and weekends.
