Audience Development Intern

The Audience Development Intern will join the Audience Development Team under the Consumer Revenue team and focus on supporting a team with primary business goals of lead generation, audience engagement, subscriber acquisition growth, and retention. The role will work closely with a cross-disciplinary group of specialists, managers, associates, directors, product managers, designers, and developers, as well as key circulation, advertising, audience engagement, and editorial staff to create and assist in delivering marketing campaigns that drive user engagement, lead generation, revenue, and subscriber growth.

Responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day operational support in creating, deploying, and analyzing various marketing campaigns
  • Cross-channel campaign assistance: writing copy, planning A/B tests, assessing performance
  • Support of marketing initiatives in some or all of the following channels: email, direct mail, social, paid, onsite, push notifications, app, and more
  • Reporting assistance: curating day-to-day data tables, creating monthly performance decks, and other reporting requests as needed
  • Miscellaneous audience development tasks such as organizing and building campaigns, managing inventory, writing social copy, scheduling social media posts for both organic and paid channels, help stakeholders and team members with various tasks and campaigns
  • A hybrid work schedule, with mandatory in-office hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

 

This position is from May to August of 2024.

Education:
Successfully completed High School Education received a GED, and currently enrolled in higher-level education in digital marketing, communications, data analytics, or public relations. 

Experience:

  • Must have marketing knowledge, project management experience, general business acumen, and be customer focused. 
  • Must be able to represent The Dallas Morning News properties, products, segments and brand.

Desired Skills:

  • Marketing/event management, communications planning, and business research experience. 
  • Strong organizational, analytical skills, and project management. Demonstrate solid understanding of marketing research principles and tools.  
  • Superior written/verbal communication skills.  
  • Knowledge of Spanish-language media market trends in addition to cultural awareness.  
  • Thorough understanding of business/marketing strategy and good analytical skills. Insightful understanding of Hispanic culture and consumer trends.  
  • Ability to speak Spanish is desired.  Strong interpersonal skills.
