Graphic Designer

POSITION SUMMARY

Graphic Designers bring our brand to life through the creation of custom, in-house graphic communications. Working closely with marketing coordinators and other designers, you’ll work to define project requirements, concept projects through mockups, and create visually appealing graphics in support of our various marketing channel campaigns.

- Managing 0%, Leading – 25%, Creating – 75%,

- Work with marketing and design team members to design, proof, revise, and prepare creative assets to market The Restaurant Store and its products, including:

  • Weekly and monthly email marketing
  • Email stream marketing
  • Direct mail initiatives, including user segmentation.
  • Handouts, brochures, rack cards, and other print marketing collaterals.
  • Monthly specials and events flyers.
  • Merchandising, signage, and POP displays.
  • Tradeshow graphics and displays.
  • Internal recruitment and/or training materials.
  • Stationery – business cards, pocket folders, etc.
  • Website banners, ads, and content blocks
  • Custom assets for landing pages and blog articles
  • Social media graphics and videos – we’re on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and LinkedIn
  • Videos for use on store endcaps or on our website.
  • Any other print or digital marketing requests as needed from the business.

- Collaborate cross-functionally to create visual concepts that communicate our brand through various marketing campaigns.

- Create aesthetically pleasing and accessible layouts and graphics utilizing our established design system, Pantry.

- Meet with marketing coordinators and/or project management to establish project needs and scope.

- Communicate design decisions and assist in making decision choices.

- Balance multiple design projects and self-manage own workload using our project management system.

- Communicate with leads and managers on the status of projects.

- Collaborate with the design team to keep on top of design industry and technology trends.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, such as Graphic/Interactive Design or Graphic Communications, or equivalent prior design experience.
  • 1-3 years’ experience working across the Adobe Creative Cloud – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or Figma
  • Demonstrated planning, organization, project management, and time management skills and the ability to self-manage a wide range of active design projects.
  • Understanding of the printing process including end-to-end process, quality control, asset management, proof review, and fulfillment/distribution.
  • Understanding of digital projects including end-to-end process, quality control, asset management, proof review, and coding/testing.
  • Demonstrated ability embrace change in fast-paced environments.
  • Prior experience working within a CRM, such as Microsoft Dynamics, a plus
  • Experience working with, or for, the restaurant industry a plus.
  • Experience working in a B2B marketing environment a plus.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Applicants must submit a portfolio of work demonstrating creative expertise in graphic communications and digital design utilizing Figma and/or Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Demonstrated effective collaboration techniques in communication with other teams or departments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate creative ideas and provide candid feedback through critiques.
  • Demonstrated ability to think both creatively and critically about design problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay abreast of technology/design trends to drive innovation.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint) and comfortable working in a high-tech, PC environment.

This role may work in an office setting and/or telecommute from home. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.
