    Position Title: Graphics Design Intern

    Position Type: Part Time (20 hours or less)

    Location: Remote 

    Compensation: $1,000 stipend per semester, paid in two $500 payments

The Global Liver Institute (GLI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. Description

Global Liver Institute is looking for a Graphics Design Intern who will work closely with our Communications Department.

Position Summary and Responsibilities

  • The Graphics Design Intern will support digital elements of GLI's communications programs and will report directly to the Communications Director. 


 

Intern would work in some or all of the following responsibilities:

  • Create visuals for internal and external use: develop templates, graphics, logos, posters, and other visual elements for communications
  • Contribute to marketing materials: Design and illustrate marketing collateral (print and digital)
  • Assist with the coordination and follow up of third party vendors, art services, printers, etc. to complete projects
  • Assist with animation and videography: Edit videos, assist in the creation of promotional videos and animations
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies
  • Collaborate with the communications team to implement digital tactics tied to overall communication strategies

Qualifications:

  • Preferred degree of study in communications, media, marketing, advertising, or related field
  • Knowledge and/or experience with virtual learning and remote work
  • Knowledge of design fundamentals and principles
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite is mandatory (especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
  • Motion graphics and video editing (specifically After Effects and/or Final Cut Pro) desired
  • Print production experience desired
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS desired
  • Capable of working independently and remotely on projects
  • Ability to follow design templates and a visual identity guide 
  • Ability to think creatively and have an eye for innovative graphic opportunities 
  • Passion for nonprofits and health advocacy
