Marketing Intern

Our environmental education nonprofit is growing rapidly, and we’re looking to bring on a marketing intern for the summer and fall of 2024. We’re looking for a student that is enrolled full-time in a major university and studying marketing or communications. We're looking for someone that is hoping to expand their skill set as a digital marketer, and who is eager to learn how to implement best practices for marketing. We’ll be offering education around how to use a number of different tools: Wordpress, Canva, MailChimp, Hootsuite, Facebook Ads, Google Ads, Google Display Network, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Brizy, Give, and more. We're offering a flexible schedule, and the workload would be between 10-15 hours per week. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Collaborate on content creation for our social media accounts, including organizing cross-platform content strategies
  • Develop new social media campaigns from the ground up, with a focus on our nonprofit’s values and the values of our partner nonprofits and brands
  • Monitor social channels for trending news, ideas and memes, then capitalize on those trends through our social media accounts
  • Develop and implement a new nonprofit newsletter or content center using our website and MailChimp
  • Use Canva to create infographics, partner materials, and other assets for our nonprofit
  • Assist with capturing and analyzing social media metrics
  • Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns
  • Create weekly and monthly media plan calendars to promote company brand on various social media websites
  • Create content and new assets for the website using Wordpress and Brizy
  • Launch Adwords, display ads, and paid social campaigns

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program required
  • Familiarity with social media strategies and platforms
  • Ability to multi-task and take initiative
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Hardworking and dedicated outlook
  • Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly
  • Experience with content creation a plus, even if not professionally
  • Bachelor's degree in digital communications, marketing, or related field such as advertising or Journalism
  • Impeccable oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with the major social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn
  • Knowledge of social media analytics software including Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, and Twitter Analytics to track audience engagement and campaign performance
  • Experience with content creation tools, website authoring tools, and image/video editing software a plus but not required
  • HTML and CSS knowledge a plus but not required
