Job Summary:
The University of San Francisco is in the second year of its most ambitious fundraising campaign. The USF Campaign has a $500M goal that will vastly enhance the University's presence and scholarship in the arts, health and life sciences, and entrepreneurism, as well as continue to provide access and opportunity for our highly diverse population of students.

The next two years will be crucial as we build momentum for several significant initiatives including the Ann Getty Institute of Art and Design and the recently acquired Health and Life Sciences campus. CAS houses nearly 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students and has the potential to raise over $100 million during this campaign.

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Assistant Director fundraises for campaign priorities in the College, actively building and managing relationships and securing funding from donors capable of making gifts of $25,000+ with a goal of $250,000 in year one and increasing in subsequent years.

Full Job Description:

Portfolio Management 50%

• Managing an initial personal portfolio of 75-125 prospects, developing ongoing personal relationships with those prospects from research and identification through cultivation, solicitation, closure, and stewardship.

Coordination 15%

• Coordinating all development activity and communication with the graduate programs in the College of Arts & Sciences and the leaders in those units.

Staffing 15%

• Staffing the advisory boards for the College of Arts and Sciences. Responsibilities include identifying and helping to recruit board members and playing an integral role in managing and deepening relationships with the board members.

Strategic Planning 10%

• With the Director of Development and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, establish a three-year strategy to substantially grow contributions at all levels and through all channels to the College increasing the number and amount of major gifts the College receives annually. A critical component of this strategy will be securing major gifts from non-alumni and parents.

Development Collaboration 5%

• Collaborate with the Corporate and Foundation Relations, Gift Planning and Annual Fund teams on relevant and timely fundraising efforts.

Academic Collaboration 5%

• Remaining current on programs and faculty/research/student initiatives in the College of Arts & Sciences and at the University as a whole.

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience or training

• Minimum of 3 years in fundraising or related experience

• Thorough working knowledge of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques, with a focus on meeting metrics set for donor visits and proposals submitted.

• Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills, including skills in creative and effective decision-making and problem identification / avoidance / resolution, and project management skills.

• Familiar with and/or ability to learn about USF, including its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure.

• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence, ability to collaborate, build trust, and achieve objectives within a team.

Salary Range :
The salary range for this position is $80,000/yr - $87,000/yr. Offers will be based on candidate experience and education, as well as equity within the University of San Francisco.
