Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as statewide strategic partnerships manager within the Center for Rural Health.

Job Responsibilities

1.  Organizes, plans, executes, controls, and evaluates the effectiveness of development of strategic partnerships for the Center for Rural Health.

  • Travels quarterly to various areas of the state to convene rural health stakeholders or participate in rural health partnership activities.
  • Implements policy for the program.

 

2.  Identifies existing and potential rural health partners included but not limited to federally funded grantees, critical access hospitals, rural emergency hospitals, rural health clinics, local health departments, federally qualified health centers, primary health care, hospital associations, advocacy groups, medical schools, nursing schools, and EMS programs.

 

3.  Create and maintain distribution and contact lists for statewide partners.

 

4.  Develop plans to communicate with external partners, maintains calendars of events, form workgroups to address specific needs or requests.

 

5.  Design and update materials on behalf of the Center for Rural Health including flyers, visual aids, pamphlets, brochures, web content, webinars, presentations, and trainings.

 

6.  Prepare and maintain reports, records, files related to assigned activities.

 

7.  Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration.
  2. Requires one year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. One year organizing, planning, or evaluating the effectiveness of development of strategic partnerships for the Rural Health.
  2. One year experience identifying existing and potential rural health partners.
  3. One year experience creating and maintaining distribution and contact lists.
  4. One year experience communicate with partners to address specific needs or requests.
  5. One year experience designing and updating materials for Rural Health including flyers, visual aids, pamphlets, brochures, web content, webinars.
  6. One year experience with programs such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat.

 

Employment Condition

  1. Requires ability to travel throughout the state.
