Journeyman Electrician (2nd Shift)

JOB SUMMARY:

This position rotates 6 days on, 3 days off from 3pm to 11:30 pm. The position is responsible for performing installation, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems and components at all Green Bay Packers owned properties.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and construction of new electrical installations while keeping in compliance with all electrical codes.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair all electrical systems and electronic motor controls including, but not limited to, transformers, sub stations, fire pumps, frequency drives, generator, heat trace, and automatic transfer switches.
  • Able to work with electrical lighting up to 277 volts.
  • Able to work with 120v to 480v, 3 phase motors, panel boards, and distribution centers.
  • Able to work with and install conduit up to 4”.
  • Assist in maintaining wire trays and wire distribution for electrical, tele/data, and A/V needs.
  • Change light bulbs and ballasts.
  • Repair LED signage.
  • Operate computerized/automated lighting control system. Assist in daily use and troubleshooting of system, maintain hardware and all relays as needed. Assist with scheduling and programming for events.
  • Assist in documentation of underground utilities and electrical duct banks.
  • Troubleshoot open and short circuits on the fire alarm system, replace smoke detectors, horn strobes, pull stations and other related devices as needed.
  • Assist in monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting fire protection systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair card readers and security cameras.
  • Responsible for writing procedures involving the electrical power distribution systems of the stadium.
  • Assist maintenance department with various tasks as they arise.
  • Operate the following types of equipment: fork truck, aerial lifts, snowplows, Bobcat, Toolcat, carts.
  • Must comply with all electrical codes and OSHA safety measures.  Understand and perform all job duties in accordance with the appropriate operating procedures and instructions relative to all environmental and safety requirements and regulations governing the work area.  Participates in ongoing education on current electrical codes and any changes.
  • Complete game day tasks including opening and closing designated areas of the stadium in a timely manner.
  • Assist in snow removal. Able to lead a snow crew during the snow removal process.
  • During shift, responsible for being the department contact, responding to emergency calls such as: plumbing issues, HVAC issues, water leaks, etc. and making decisions that look out for the Packers best interest.
  • Able to respond to emergency calls after hours, when on call or necessary. Will work evenings and weekends based on 6 on - 3 off rotating schedule, as well as every gameday, certain stadium events and holidays.  Shift work will be required.
  • Assist in fulfilling power requirements for special events including, but not limited to, concerts, marathon and other community events, Holiday Jubilee light show, network game broadcasts, etc.
  • Occasional service of aquatics equipment, such a hot tubs, cold tubs, Swim X.
  • Troubleshoot and repair relays and lock mechanisms on automatic doors throughout building.

 

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma
  • State journeyman electrician's license required. 4-6 years Electrical experience
  • Must be familiar with high voltage equipment and have electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Able to correctly read blueprints and schematics and keep as-built drawings up to date with new additions and any changes.
  • Must have basic knowledge and understanding of heat trace and heat trace controls.
  • General knowledge of fire protection systems.
  • General knowledge of Johnson Controls Metasys system and wiring. 
  • Exposed to disagreeable environmental conditions including dirt, noise, extreme temperatures, heights, cramped workspaces, confined spaces, and areas or tasks where caution must be exercised to insure safety.
  • Must be comfortable working off aerial lifts from heights of 135 feet and be able to climb sport rack light poles to maintain equipment.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain certification to operate lifts. 
  • Must be extremely self-motivated and hardworking, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting skills and be a team player.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs., stand, walk, bend, climb, and walk steps most of your shift.
  • Must possess valid Wisconsin driver’s license.

 

 

SUPERVISES: This position does not have any supervisory responsibility.
