Job Summary:

 

Provide efficient check-out service to Grand Canyon Railway Retail guests while maintaining superior guest service standards. Assists the Area Retail Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Retail Store, Fudge, and Coffee Shop. The Supervisor will also assume responsibility for the complete operation of the Retail Store in the absence of the Area Store Manager

 

The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay: $18.90 an hour
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities:

  • Fully understand and support Xanterra's Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Assist the Area Store Manager in the day-to-day operation of the store.
  • Responsible for special projects as assigned by the Area Store Manager
  • Work with the Director and Area Store Manager to set up store displays and stock merchandise.
  • Assume responsibility for the operation and supervision of the Retail Store in the absence of the Area Store Manager.
  • Assist the Area Store Manager with annual reviews for store employees.
  • Assist the sales associates with opening and closing duties including cashier deposits.
  • Assist with stocking, cleaning, and customer service as needed.
  • Responsible for learning the confectioner's secrets for creating homemade style fudge, specialty coffees, and other treats from our special recipes!
  • Assist at the coffee and fudge store as needed.
  • Oversee general housekeeping of the store, cash/wrap, and back-room areas and maintain store standards of appearance.
  • Complete month-end Service Product inventory (Retail items, Fudge, Coffee, and Breakfast Items) and report findings to GCR Purchasing Manager, Area Retail Manager, and Retail Director.
  • Promote and generate retail sales by encouraging upselling.
  • Assist with loss control and shrinkage to keep losses to a minimum.
  • Adhere to all safety, risk management, and environmental policies.
  • Assist with store paperwork such as retail distribution center PICK, receiving and preparing transfers, checking, and receiving merchandise, and other administrative duties as directed by the Area Store Manager.
  • Assist the retail manager with training Sales Associates and Leads and provide feedback on training progress to the Area Store Manager.
  • Keeps County food manager’s certification current, and maintains superior sanitation standards in the shops including labeling, proper hygiene, and hand washing, proper product storage, and rotation, maintaining temperatures, etc.
  • Effectively handles stressful situations in a public setting and resolves professionally guest-related problems.
  • Assist with store paperwork, stock levels, and vending contacts.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • 2 Years of retail experience
  • 2 Years of lead experience in hospitality
  • Previous experience with money handling
  • Previous experience with inventory processes.
  • Previous experience in POS (Point of sales) systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and software
  • Must possess a valid/clear Arizona Driver’s License and be able to comply with the Xanterra/GCR Vehicle Policy.

Physical Requirements include:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

  • Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, standing, walking, using eye/hand coordination, handling, reaching outward and using wrist motion.
  • Reaching above shoulder, bending, lift or carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasionally sit, climb, crawl, squat or kneel, lift/carry and push or pull up to 50lbs.
  • Will be required to stand long periods and to occasionally walk up flights of stairs.
