User Experience Intern

The User Experience Intern will be the driving force behind our biennial healthcare innovation pitch competition, working alongside UX experts and marketing specialists to plan, promote, and manage the event. Hone your entrepreneurial skills through vetting/researching ideas and creating associated prototypes and gain experience with emerging technologies (such as generative AI), user experience principles, and agile methodologies all in a healthcare setting. The UX Intern will have the opportunity to attend workshops and seminars alongside our team, acquiring valuable skills in UX methodologies, design tools, and healthcare technology.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct human-centered design research
  • Support design thinking activities, agile development methodologies, and discovery workshops
  • Perform market assessments and develop Lean Business Model Canvases
  • Participate in planning for and execution of innovation-focused conferences and community-facing events
  • Support the development of marketing campaigns and associated materials
  • Document customer meetings, concepts, and project artifacts/decisions
  • Assist with meetings, tours, and workshop preparation and setup
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with a team of designers, developers, and analysts

 

DURATION: Summer 2024 (8 weeks at 40 hours/week) tentative start of June 10

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in design, engineering, computer science, healthcare, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in healthcare and the potential of technology to improve lives.
  • Passion for creative problem-solving and design thinking.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of research methods and data analysis is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI concepts is a plus.
