Job Summary/Description:

FOX10 News is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking evening anchor who excels at exceptional storytelling and engaging audiences across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of social media trends and a proven ability to elevate content on digital platforms. As an anchor at FOX10 News, you will be a leader in the newsroom and the community, adept at anchoring breaking news, investigating issues important to our communities, and enterprising stories with a positive, approachable demeanor.

We are looking for a journalist who is passionate about winning on every platform, every single day. A successful candidate will be determined to cultivate relationships along the Gulf Coast, develop strong sources, and own big stories through enterprise reporting.

Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

- Co-anchor evening newscasts Monday-Friday with enthusiasm and a positive on-air presence
- Develop lead story ideas and contribute daily to content decisions, with a focus on engaging digital audiences
- Report on special projects as assigned, with a commitment to innovative storytelling across platforms
- Own big stories by developing contacts and helping to enterprise community stories
- Conduct live interviews and anchor continuous coverage with poise and professionalism
- Mentor and help develop younger less experienced reporters, photographers, and producers.
- Demonstrate strong fact-checking skills and copy-editing ability
- Contribute compelling stories to all platforms – streaming, website, and social media, with an understanding of how to effectively reach audiences on each platform
- Represent the station in the community and for various promotional events
- Deliver unscripted breaking news coverage and special event coverage to the community at large with clarity and composure
- Write stories, teases, and other important content to contribute to the overall quality of the newscasts
- Help evaluate leads and tips to develop story ideas that resonate with audiences
- Cover news in the field, when necessary, with the ability to adapt to changing situations

Qualifications/Requirements:

- At least 5 years of experience as a news anchor
- Previous experience working in a top 60 market and in a fast-paced environment is preferred
- Ability to work quickly, meet deadlines, multi-task, and show composure, especially during high-pressure breaking news situations
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- This position requires exceptional news judgment, strong work ethic, a team-oriented approach to winning, and a deep understanding of social media and digital platforms
- Understanding of and adherence to AP Style and broadcast writing
- MVR check required
