The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.

  • Receives and processes payments for pet licenses, adoptions, and various other services provided; balances accounts and makes bank deposits.
  • Opens and processes incoming mail.
  • Assists citizens with animal control business and provides information regarding adoptions, the reclaiming of animals, State and County animal control ordinances and proper pet care. Forwards complaints to administrative superior.
  • Enters updates, maintains and retrieves information from Animal Care and County software programs.
  • Coordinates and participates in volunteer activities and adoption events.
  • Assists Placement Partners with rescue claims and information.
  • Completes daily/weekly/monthly/annual reports.
  • Enters and processes rabies certificates and licenses.
  • Assists with purchasing and inventory control.
  • Provides other clerical support as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalency AND a minimum of 2 years of clerical experience involving intensive typing/data entry and related records maintenance is required. 

The position requires the physical ability to sit for extended periods of time, excellent customer service skills, and to perform ongoing production oriented operation of keyboard devices or VDT's (video display terminals) where speed, accuracy, and volume of work are the primary factors.

Additional Information

Minimally qualified applicants will start at 25% of the salary range: $16.89/hr

The applicant selected must undergo and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
