Human Resources Intern

Job Purpose:

The Human Resources Intern will be responsible for learning the role of human resources in the manufacturing environment and participating in tasks, including assisting with all activities of the Human Resources Department.

 

Primary Objectives:

 

Human Resources:

  • Updating company databases by inputting employee information and employment details.
  • Assisting with recruiting by posting and removing job openings to job boards and social media platforms, screening applicants to identify suitable candidates to fill company job vacancies, scheduling interviews, communicating with applicants and new hires.
  • Coordinating new hire orientations.
  • Assisting with auditing for compliance with all federal, state, local employment laws.
  • Assisting with maintaining employee personnel files.
  • Adheres to company Code of Ethics and quality policies and procedures, and any relevant Federal or regulatory requirements.
  • Adheres to all M-B America policies, operating procedures and work instructions at all times

Experience/Education:

 

Required:

Three to four years of study toward a degree in Human Resources or other related field.

 

Position requires knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Human Resources field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Position requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail

Communications

Position requires the ability to clearly communicate information to peers and superiors, both verbally and in writing.

 

Task Oriented Skills

Position requires a motivated attitude and the ability to apply critical thinking to decision making and task completion. Additionally, deliverables need to be presented in an organized, understandable format.

 

Teamwork

Position requires willingness to work in a team environment.

 

Other Requirements:

 

Physical Ability

Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, and move throughout the facility. Requires the physical ability to operate computer systems and read documents for extended periods.

 

Travel

Occasional regional travel may be required.

Work Environment

The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields. For the most part the employee will be exposed to ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment.
