Craft Shop Program & Workshop Intern

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Craft and Design Center Director (EPC), Craft Shop Workshop and Program Intern will develop, implement, train and oversee craft workshops.  They will assist the Artist-in-Residence with supply needs, attend programs, take photos, and document attendance. They will insure all workshops and programs are put into Activity Key and assist with marketing. This role will provide excellent customer service and engage with guests of all ages.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain workshop inventory and schedule.
  • Assist Art-in-Residence, workshop development and scheduling. 
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Teach arts and crafts to people of all ages and abilities in a safe environment.
  • Predict, prevent, identify and respond to safety issues.
  • Communicate with all guests in a mature, responsible fashion
  • Use computer system to assist guests in program registration and purchasing crafts.
  • Assist in program development and advancement.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Participate in daily cleaning of program buildings as assigned.
  •      Work in other departments or program areas as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in marketing. 
  • Experience with arts and crafts or background in Art Education.
  • Experience working with Children is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  •  Must be fluent in speaking English
  • Must enjoy working with people
  • Must possess current First Aid and CPR certification
