School credit + $19/hour

Position Overview:

Grokker is looking for an energetic and detail-oriented video editing intern to provide part-time post production support and gain valuable editing experience at our office in San Jose. Primary duties will include editing high-impact wellbeing videos from start to finish, additional assistant editing tasks to support Grokker’s Content team, content delivery to VOD platforms, and project managing content translation projects. 

Grokker is a leading wellbeing platform with follow-along videos, challenges, and community for better mental health, fitness, nutrition, sleep, and financial wellbeing. We produce and edit all of our content in-house – come join our video team and play an important role in bringing our videos to life!

Duties & Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Video Producer/Editor and Head of Content Production to provide support on a wide range of post-production tasks, including:

• Editing:
  • Edit wellbeing videos from start to finish including video editing, sound/music editing, motion graphics, using b-roll and stock footage, and color correction.
  • Create polished, high-impact videos that will be a valuable showpiece in your portfolio!
• Assistant editing:
  • Build and maintain well-organized editing projects in Adobe Premiere
  • Create assemblies and rough cuts
  • Assist on (and learn from) marketing video projects
• VOD delivery:
  • Export finished Grokker videos to the required specs of our VOD partners
  • Create XML files with video metadata to partner specs
  • Package videos, metadata and image assets, and upload to partner servers
• Translation:
  • Project manage our translation workflow, shepherding media assets to our translation vendors, syncing, and uploading finished translations to our website.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Energetic and proactive attitude towards complex but sometimes repetitive tasks – you love hacking efficiency for max results
• Extremely detail-oriented when it comes to “the little things” like file management, color correction, sound levels, etc.
• Editing experience in Adobe Premiere. Bonus for experience or interest in learning After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• A strong desire to learn new skills and take on unfamiliar tasks.
• Strong collaboration skills, constructive communication, patience, flexibility, and adaptability.

This is a part time summer internship position. Exact schedule has some flexibility, but the ideal candidate will work 3 days/week, ~8 hours/day in person at our San Jose headquarters. Seeking availability approx. from June-August.
