Boys & Girls Aid in Portland OR is looking to hire an On-Call Intake & Crisis Support Specialist. Do you have experience working with youth 12-21? A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN INTAKE AND CRISIS SUPPORT SPECIALIST

As Intake & Crisis Support Specialist, you have the rewarding job of providing crisis support to the youth in our adolescent/teen programs. You receive crisis calls from a wide range of different sources. You assess calls and provide emotional support, trauma-informed interventions, and screen afterhours referrals.

After-hours intake & placements occur at Multnomah and Clackamas Counties Juvenile Departments. You provide transport to placement location after providing appropriate assessments and determining program fit.

You maintain safety while facilitating professional communications, make decisions aligned with agency policies, and ensure appropriate youth interactions You implement trauma-informed care (TIC) strategies and use collaborative problem-solving model in your daily work. You keep accurate records of daily activities and services provided in accordance with quality assurance and state licensing standards. Making a difference in the lives of youth gives meaning to the work you do!


 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN INTAKE AND CRISES SUPPORT SPECIALIST

  • 1 year of experience in mental health, social services, or related field OR Bachelor's degree along with 1+ years of experience.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
