Social Media Specialist

                                                                Social Media Specialist

The social media specialist creates original text and video content, manages posts, and responds to JTA followers and patrons. Works within the communications to maintain public awareness and confidence in our services. Stay up-to-date and well-versed in the latest digital technologies and social media trends. Possesses excellent written and visual communication skills, articulates JTA's communication objectives creatively and impactfully to various audiences, and ensures high web traffic and customer engagement. 

 

Essential Function(s):

Foster a brand to the public that showcases the JTA mission in a relatable, authentic, and professional manner that fosters public awareness and credibility of the Authority.

Fosters and maintains online relations with patrons, key stakeholders, the transit industry, and Jacksonville businesses.

Collaborates cross-functionally across the JTA staff to ensure brand consistency.

Contributes to the communication strategy by leveraging social media to engage key audiences and stakeholders.

Contributes to the marketing strategy by leveraging social media.

Articulates service updates as required. 

Provides short-term and long-term forecasts and reports by directing research collection, analysis, and interpretation of social media market data.

Staying abreast of and advice on current social media trends can be leveraged for JTA communication and marketing goals.

Creates new strategies for communication development by acquiring and analyzing data.

Manage a budget to leverage paid social media promotion.  Prepare an annual budget for PIO review, schedule expenditures, and make recommendations to better meet our communication needs. 

Develops marketing staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and growth opportunities.

Assists the Public Information Officer with drafting communications products as necessary. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field or 8-10 years of related experience. 

Communicate with followers, respond to queries promptly, and monitor customer reviews.

Oversee social media accounts’ design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures, and blog layout)

Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions.

Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools, and applications with proven working experience in digital marketing, particularly within the industry.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience leading and managing SEO, and social media advertising campaigns.

Solid knowledge of website and marketing analytics tools Working knowledge of ad-serving tools.

Experience in setting up and optimizing PPC campaigns on all major search engines.

Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints.
