Internship - Outreach and Project Management Support

Position and Grade: Internship – Outreach and Project Management Support in Public Relations

Organizational Unit: Terrestrial Environmental Radiochemistry Laboratory Unit Radiochemistry and Radiation Technology Section Division of Physical and Chemical Sciences Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications

Duty Station: Seibersdorf, Austria

Duration of Appointment/Start: 1 year, Fall 2024

Main Purpose 

The main purpose of the internship is to support the Terrestrial Environmental Radiochemistry (TERC) Laboratory in developing innovative public relations and outreach projects to showcase to Member States. These materials will highlight ongoing research activities and facilitate additional engagements with Member States. 

Tasks / Key Results 

  • Design and develop various printed and digital promotional materials including a brochure, flyer & rollup display banner.
  • Update components of the laboratory’s website
  • Investigate social media possibilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational and general office skills (Required)
  • Problem-solving and excellent customer relations ability (Required)
  • Knowledge of social media platforms (Asset)

Qualifications and Experience 

  • University degree in communication, public relations, international relations or similar.
  • Excellent written and spoken English essential; fluency in any other IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) an asset.

Applicant Eligibility 

  • Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years of age and have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree.
  • Candidates may apply up to one year after the completion of a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree.
  • Candidates must not have previously participated in the IAEA's internship programme.
  • Excellent written and spoken English essential; fluency in any other IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian) an asset.
  • Candidates must attach two signed letters of recommendation to their application.
