Job Title: Social Media Intern

Duration: 3 Months (25 hours a week)

Stipend: $16 a hour

Description:

We are looking for a dynamic and creative to join our marketing and communications team. This position is perfect for a highly motivated college student or recent graduate who is passionate about social media and wants to make a positive impact by advocating for the inclusion of people with disabilities. As the Social Media Intern, you will collaborate with our Marketing, Communications and Development team to craft engaging content for our LinkedIn and Instagram platforms, fostering meaningful interactions with our audience. 

 

Must provide a writing sample or online portfolio showing past social media or copywriting experience to be considered.

 

Preference will be given to those who live in the New York Metropolitan Area, as this position does require attending in-person meetings at least once a week.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop creative, engaging content
  • Assist in updating and populating social media content calendar
  • Schedule and monitor social media posts using Sprout Social
  • Engage with social media audience on LinkedIn and Instagram
  • Complete research, study social and cultural trends, and monitor the web and social media for disability-related news
  • Assist in compiling social media metrics for quarterly review
  • Collaborate with Graphic Design intern

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor's program related to Marketing, History, English, Journalism, Communications, or a similar field
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Experience using Sprout Social
  • Expert understanding of social media (specifically Instagram and LinkedIn)
  • Passion for disability inclusion
  • Ability to project manage, tell a story, and be creative
  • Detail-oriented, organized with the ability to work both independently and part of a team
