TV Broadcast Master Control Operator – Entry Level
A Master Control operator is responsible for monitoring the quality and accuracy of the TV Broadcast on-air product for several TV Channels and is the final point before a signal is distributed via satellite or fiber optics to cable networks,
Job Description:
- Preview channel playlists / programming to ensure that all video files are available and ready for broadcast as scheduled.
- Check technical quality of TV content and assure that are error free.
- Editing, managing of on air logs, automation playlists and server device management.
- Create discrepancy reports on scheduling, traffic and on-air irregularities and problems.
- Report equipment problems to Supervisor and perform emergency workarounds.
- Watch all his/her channels video and audio for any issue or problem and escalate as needed.
- May be assigned to other duties as necessary for emergency or special operating conditions.
Qualifications:
- High diploma or equivalent degree.
- Degree in Broadcasting , Media , Communications – highly desirable
Mandatory Requirements:
- Willingness to work overtime, and on weekends with short notice.
- Willingness to submit to a background investigation.
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Bilingual (Spanish/ English)
- Interpersonal and professional communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Windows operating systems
- Ability to multi-task and react quickly during daily broadcasts.
- Versatile and capable of learning specialized software applications and have an aptitude for operating electronic equipment
- Great attention to detail, excellent computer skills, and must be able to work in a fast paced environment
Desired Requirements:
- Bilingual: English and Spanish
- Strong knowledge , understanding and INTEREST in broadcast and production technology.
- Ability to multi-task and react quickly during daily broadcasts.
- Availability to work all shifts, including early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, late breaking news and hurricane emergencies.
