Human Resources Assistant Intern

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for the following tasks:

 

Assisting day-to-day efficient operation of HR department.

Maintain employee files, medical, workers comp, terminated, and I-9 files. 

Enter new hire information into CTP system upon request. 

Assist with employee relations. 

Assist in New Hire Orientation process, including I-9 verification of documents and forms. 

Clarify and implement company wide policies.

Keep track and follow-up with Supervisors of employee evaluations.

Verify monthly I-9 expiration dates and follow-up with employees for updated documents. 

Maintains department office area in an organized and professional manner including supplies and equipment.

Replenishes office supplies as needed.

Email and follow-up with Supervisors of daily employee time clock exceptions. 

Answers the telephone in a professional manner and assists employees and guests with any questions. 

Assists with the recruitment through pre-screening process. 

Develop, upload, and distribute bi-weekly employee newsletter and monthly birthday list.

Review Health, Dental and Aflac invoices. Process all new enrollments, terminations and changes to ensure that amounts have been adjusted on current invoice prior to submitting payment, once approved by HR Director. 

Assist in the administration of Workers' Compensation and FMLA claims (i.e. authorize, send employees to treatment center, and provide proper documentation). 

Assist in coordinating Employee Picnics, Year-End Celebration, and all employee related activities and/or functions. 

Back-up to Receptionist as needed (customer service and quotes).

Performing other clerical duties as required, including, but not limited to, filing, data processing, faxing, typing, etc…

As part of the job, the position also requires that you have the ability to react productively to changes and handle other tasks as assigned.
