Motion Graphics Intern

SARANKCO is seeking three full-time paid interns for our creative team who will participate in various stages of digital, print, and copywriting projects from concept through execution. These interns should be prepared to work in a fastpaced, high-performance, collaborative team environment, and will finish the internship having gained broad experience across several industries and communications channels.

The SARANKCO Student Internship Program offers opportunities to learn from and interact with the following departments of our studio: Digital and Print Design, Copywriting, Strategy, Production, Project Management, Operations, and Senior Leadership. Mentors will work closely with our interns to ensure a successful and valuable internship experience that will include exposure to typical client work as well as special projects and assignments.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

SARANKCO Creative Studio is searching for a talented and passionate Motion Graphics Intern with an outstanding portfolio of work that shows a breadth of styles, complexity, and purpose. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, self-motivated, has great communication skills, and is eager to learn. This role will frequently collaborate with other designers, copywriters, strategists, developers, project managers, and senior team leaders. A solid foundation in design and motion graphics / animation is required, along with a can-do attitude and curious spirit. The Motion Graphics Intern will spend most of the summer partnering with the other interns while working  on a curated group project, but will also be given ample opportunity to assist and possibly lead on client projects as well. At the end of the summer, the Motion Graphics Intern should expect to complete this program with some impressive portfolio pieces, and three months of professional experience in a fast-paced agency environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a BFA, MFA, or similar in design- or animation-related discipline
  • Undergraduate students should be a rising Junior or Senior
  • Pursuing a career in fine arts, video, broadcast, or a creative services field such as design, advertising, marketing, or communications
  • Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, and Blender required
  • Familiarity with Sketch, Figma, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, XD a plus
  • Knowledge of UI/UX, web design, and social media techniques and trends
  • Educated in graphic design, with strong typography, color theory, and composition foundation
  • Excellent communicator, able to persuasively present ideas and discuss their strategic design approach
  • Shares and receives direction well and demonstrates excellent time-management skills
  • Self-motivated and ambitious, hungry for opportunities, and passionate about design
  • Located in NYC during the summer months, and available to work both in-person and remote as needed

ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the Summer Intern Project, leading on the design and motion graphics aspects of the project, and collaborating with the other interns to complete the assignment before the end of the summer
  • Support the efforts of the creative team to collaboratively execute innovative multimedia projects across several brands, industries, channels, and verticals
  • Enhance our email marketing campaigns, web pages, mobile applications, and social posts through the addition of exceptionally well conceived and executed motion graphics
  • Help to build and prepare creative materials, video assets,  and presentation decks that align with client objectives, and studio best practices
  • Present ideas, in-progress work, and final deliverables  thoughtfully and persuasively, both internally to project teams and externally to our clients
  • Participate in all team meetings and brainstorming sessions, actively contributing to the conversation

COMPENSATION + BENEFITS

This is a full-time, paid internship that will work partially in-person at our NYC studio for a duration of 10–12 weeks over the summer between May and August 2024, at a compensation rate of $18/hour. SARANKCO will provide lunch on in-studio days, and offers a full kitchen of complimentary coffee, tea, beverages, and snacks. We provide our interns with robust training and development that includes an introduction to our company and clients, process and tools training, and mentorship with senior team members.
