Role Summary:
We are looking for a WordPress Specialist Intern with a passion for web development and experience in using WordPress. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in updating and enhancing our website to improve user engagement, functionality, and overall site performance. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and make a significant impact on Med-Kick's online presence.

Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain the Med-Kick website, ensuring content is current, engaging, and optimized for SEO.
  • Add and edit website pages to enhance user experience and provide up-to-date information.
  • Publish and manage blog content, incorporating SEO best practices to increase visibility.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure consistency in brand messaging and design.
  • Implement new features and functionalities to improve website performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to WordPress, plugins, or themes.
  • Participate in website design discussions and contribute creative ideas for enhancing digital engagement.

Training and Development:

  • Initial Training: Receive comprehensive training on Med-Kick’s digital standards, content management processes, and SEO integration within WordPress.
  • Ongoing Learning: Gain insights into advanced WordPress functionalities, web design best practices, and analytics monitoring to continuously improve the site.

Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in or recent graduate of a program in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong experience with WordPress, including themes, plugins, and customizations.
  • Understanding of web design principles and user experience (UX) best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of SEO and how to apply it in content management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creative thinking and eagerness to contribute innovative ideas.

This is a 6 month internship.  3 Months will be unpaid and the final 3 months could be paid upon evaluation.  There will be an opportunity for a full-time or part-time position.
