Environmental Sustainability Summer Internship 

Greenlink Education is seeking motivated individuals with a passion for and background in environmental sustainability for an 8-week paid summer internship. 

Applicants should have relevant coursework or work experience (and ideally a combination of both) within the environmental sustainability space and an interest in working with environmental justice communities. Greenlink works with schools and school districts on a wide range of sustainability planning and implementation projects, including (but not limited to) the implementation of solar arrays, school bus fleet electrification, and analysis of energy efficiency systems. We are looking for interns with experience and knowledge in these areas and the flexibility to apply their skill sets to a broader range of projects as needed.

Our mission is to bring proven sustainability solutions to scale in the education and non-profit sectors. Being a small organization, Greenlink offers interns tremendous opportunities to learn and contribute directly to the organization. Interns will have contact with leadership team members and participate in a wide range of tasks that will provide a breadth of learning and work opportunities. Most importantly, interns will engage in work with a measurable positive environmental impact focusing on environmental justice. 

Responsibilities of Greenlink Education interns may include:

  • Grant writing support
  • Data management and analysis such as utility analysis, energy cost, energy emissions, savings forecasting
  • Research
  • Support organizational operations growth as needed
  • Engage in research and writing for Greenlink sales and business development
  • Engage with company leadership to grow GreenLink’s presence and visibility within the sustainability and K-12 education sectors through targeted market research and increased outreach.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled Junior or above (Junior, Senior, recent graduate or current graduate students) with related Major and coursework
  • Strong writing skills (Grant writing experience a plus)
  • Strong Research skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Precision, attention to detail
  • Ability to understand complex instructions
  • Good Interpersonal skills - able to work with other interns and company leaders and contribute to meetings
  • Knowledge of Google Suite apps - Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Slides, Excel/Spreadsheet analysis

Relevant Coursework/Work experience in the following areas: 

  • Solar renewable energy fields
  • Electric utility sector
  • EV auto and charging sector, particularly EV buses
  • Building electrification and energy efficiency technology
  •  

Details about Dates, Pay and Location

  • Dates of Position:  June 10- August 2, 2024
  • Hours: 15 hours per week, Flexible schedule
  • Compensation: $1800 
  • Location: Remote
