Assistant Manager

Depth of Field Management is a boutique artist management company which provides guidance, strategic planning and support in the elevation of the careers of the multi-Grammy Award winning musicians it represents.

ASSISTANT MANAGER JOB OFFERING

You would be assisting the company principal and work directly with the artists and their respective constellation of contacts. The ideal candidate would have experience in artist management, an interest in jazz, excellent communication and organizational skills, an interest in advancing the careers of others, a comprehensive interest and skill set in all facets of social media. Still image and video editing skills are a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Serve as a point of contact for clients; building strong, collaborative relationships with both the artists and those working on their behalf;

– Manage artists’ calendars and distribute said calendars;

– Liaise with artists and promoters to coordinate logistics for tours and performances, including travel arrangements, accommodations, technical requirements and schedules;

– Collaborate with record labels, booking agents, publicists, accountants and other industry professionals to maximize efficiency for artists;

– Negotiate contracts and agreements on behalf of artists, ensuring their best interests are represented;

– Assist with the planning and execution of album production and releases, tour marketing, promotional activities and media appearances;

– Execute general administrative duties, including but not limited to invoice and billing management, maintenance of calendars and foreign visa administration;

REQUIREMENTS

– Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal. An ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively;

– Being highly organized and detail-oriented;

– The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and hit deadlines;

– A creative approach to problem-solving; able to be proactive and resourceful;

– Proficiency in industry tools and software including Google Suite;

– Flexibility to occasionally work irregular hours;

– You are in commuting distance of New York City and willing to periodically come into the city as needed;

PREFERRED

– Bachelor's degree in music business, arts management, or related field;

– Previous experience working in artist management, record label, talent agency, or related industry;

– Proficiency in graphic design and video editing software;

– Cursory knowledge of IT/computer maintenance;

BENEFITS/COMPENSATION

– $35,000 – 45,000 yearly salary
