Finance Internship

Are you interested in becoming a RUI LIMITLESS Intern ?

This eight-week internship will allow you to gain hands-on experience in the corporate home office executing accounting and finance activities that help keep seniors living communities thriving.

As part of your internship, you will be tasked with a summer long legacy project as well as management of monthly procedures. You will have the opportunity to present your legacy project to members of RUIs Executive Leadership team. Upon completion of LIMITLESS selected interns will receive a full-time offer upon graduation. With offices located across the state of Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, New York, Deleware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Connecticut you can start your career in Virginia, but RUI can take you to any of our numerous locations.


Reports to and is supervised by the Corporate Controller.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing critical month end duties including account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Prepare monthly & Quarterly financial reports to help manage performance including P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow
  • Manage controls to keep Fixed Asset Register Accurate and up to date
  • Oversee Ancillary medical service billing at RUI communities ensuring expenses are recouped
  • Complete sales & use tax filings
  • Assist with completing audits and financial compliance activities
  • Assist with accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable processes validating invoice submissions & cash receipts
  • Ad hoc projects and analysis working closely with Chief Accounting Officer and Controller, including procurement report preparation and review to optimize preferred vendor spending

Job Requirements

  • Must be highly proficient with Windows operating systems, MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be enrolled in an institution of higher education. (business major required accounting finance concentrations preferred)
  • Must have taken an accounting course at college level
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, nights, and holidays as required.
  • Must have strong analytical skills.
