Intern - Software Development

Intern – Software Development

UNITE HERE seeks two (2) Software Developer Interns to be a part of the Union’s technology team supporting campaigns. Our technology teams based in the New York metropolitan area and across the country are dedicated professionals with a strong commitment to our mission. If you are a creative problem-solver looking to help build and support the next generation of labor union technology and try new things in a fast-moving organization, you will love working with us.

UNITE HERE is a progressive, member-driven, not-for-profit union, dedicated to organizing workers in the hotel/hospitality, gaming/casino, and food service (including at airports and cafeterias) industries to lift workplace standards across the United States and Canada. You will be part of a team that empowers workers—primarily women, people of color and immigrants—in low-wage service sector jobs to achieve better wages, benefits, dignity, and rights at work.

Position Summary:  We are entering our second year building our foundational team, transitioning to an in-house team rather than relying heavily on 3rd parties for software development. The Software Developer Internship is a 9-week role for a rising college senior, recent graduate, or equivalent, who is flexible and eager to learn and grow. The Intern will be supported on a few projects by a Software Developer to make important contributions to software to drive campaigns. The Intern will also have direct campaign interaction as well.
