Job Summary:
The Graphic Designer position is a pivotal role in the Marketing group, as this Associate has involvement in all aspects of visual executions. This role is suitable for a junior-level, focused, creative individual who enjoys taking projects from idea to print/digital, in a fast-paced setting.
This role reports directly to the Art Director, Creative Project Managers, and Creative Director.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Prepares visual presentations by designing art and copy layouts.
• Responsible for contributing to design and brand standards, executing corporate ad program, supporting design and production of marketing mailer program, producing West Marine News and other varied projects, contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed.
• Incorporates creativity with company objectives, utilizing Adobe CC, Figma, and similar tools.
• Proposes concepts by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
• Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and added value throughout the production process.
• Ability to positively accept and respond to changing objectives and schedules.

• Projects include mailers, marketing kits for stores, magazine advertisements, brochures, logos, signs, digital ads, and other communication materials
• Planning & researching artwork/brand solutions
• Ability to explain and discuss concepts, and advocate for appropriate solutions.
• Prepares final artwork in accordance with production standards for digital and print.
• Plans concepts by analyzing submitted information, objectives and deadlines with Art Director and Creative Director.

Education, Experience & Skills:
Category Applicable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Minimum education required/preferred, area of study: BA degree in Graphic Design, or equivalent work experience. 1-5 years of experience.
Additional skills/knowledge required include: • Strong design, layout, problem-solving, collaboration skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and analysis skills.
• Excel in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-oriented role.
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Excel, product database access.
• Experienced with printer standards and digital specifications.
• Knowledge of boating industry customers and products helpful.
• Current with latest software, industry standards, production and design trends.
