Biogen Manufacturing Engineering at the RTP Pharma site supports two sterile filling lines and an Automated Visual Inspection Machine at the Parenteral Facility and a small-scale filling line, Oligonucleotide Synthesis Manufacturing Area, and an Oral Solid Dose Manufacturing Area in Building 35. Manufacturing Engineering helps with design, installation, modification, troubleshooting and qualification of new and existing equipment. Manufacturing Engineering also provides technical support for Manufacturing and other Engineering Departments.
Position Description
Detailed description of role including but not limited to:
This internship will focus primarily on continuous improvement and capture of tribal knowledge within the Manufacturing Engineering Department. The candidate will work with all Manufacturing Engineers to understand select processes from end to end and capture knowledge, file locations, and best practices. This role will also interface with Manufacturing and other Engineering Departments to understand the Manufacturing Engineer’s role. They will also interact with each of Biogen Computerized Systems to capture information and process flows.
Example projects may include:
Job shadowing during equipment troubleshooting
Automated Inspection Machine (AIM) spare gap assessment
Fault tree creation form vendor manual
Tray loader part creation
Qualifications:
Fluent in Microsoft Office / SharePoint is a plus
Ability to hit deadlines and understand processes from start to finish
Knowledge of SolidWorks
Great communication skills
To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
Education
Rising Junior or above & enrolled in an Engineering Degree Program
