Dubbing Intern, Content Operations & Innovation (Summer 2024)
Who are we?
Netflix is one of the world’s leading entertainment services with over 260 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films, and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.
It’s no secret that we want to entertain the world. In order to do that we first must hire and develop the best people, starting with university students.
If you have a passion for solving challenging problems and are excited at the prospect of having a significant impact on productions that over 260 million viewers tune into, then we want to talk to you.
The Content Operations & Innovation organization at Netflix supports content to thrill members with efficient operational workflows and execution while leveraging our scale and innovating to deliver more value on screen. Within this organization, we are looking to host one intern on the Dubbing team during Summer 2024. Dubbing refers to the process of replacing the original spoken language in a show with a translated version in another language. This involves recording new dialogue in the target language and synchronizing it with the lip movements of the actors on screen.
We are seeking a candidate who is self-motivated, quick-thinking, flexible, able to pivot when necessary, and able to juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities. This position requires both project management and analytical skills. As a dubbing intern, you will take on the role of Dubbing Title Manager and assist in managing the dubbing of a Netflix Original Series. With these learnings, you will work closely with the Dubbing S&I (Strategy & Innovations) team to put your analytical skills to use - analyzing the dubbing workflow, data around the performance of dubs, and more! An interest in language and an appreciation for regional and cultural nuances is a plus!
You do not need prior experience to apply; once you submit your application, you’ll receive an email inviting you to complete your application by filling out an Airtable form. You’ll also be asked to submit a 300-word-maximum statement of intent within the form using the following prompt: Please explain why are you specifically interested in pursuing an internship in Hollywood, and what aspects of the entertainment industry or the Hollywood environment appeal to you the most. Please also share an example of how your skills and experiences make you a strong fit for the Dubbing internship. Lastly, did you watch Squid Games in the original version or dubbed?
This posting will be open for a very limited time and will be closed for new applications by February 9, so if you’re interested, please submit your application as soon as possible.
