Trial Lawyer Apprentice

770 GOODLAW is a PI firm handling mainly car wreck cases with 5 attorneys and about 27 other team members.  We are looking to add 3 more Trial Lawyer Apprentices.  We currently have about 200 cases in litigation in either State or Superior courts. About you:

WHAT A PLAYER DOES:

  • Assist with Complaints,
  • Filing and perfecting services, 
  • Handle written discoveries while the trial lawyer handles trials, mediations and depositions;
  • Other litigation tasks assigned.

 

THE PERFECT PLAYER HAS: 

  • A JD, or about to graduate Law School,
  • Computer skills and being able to learn new software programs quickly,
  • Capacity to work and communicate well on a team that consists of additional attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants, 
  • At least 3 years of tenure at previous employers,
  • Ability to work independently,
  • Superior verbal and written communication, as well as interpersonal skills,
  • Collaborate with contacts both internally and externally,
  • Capability to travel the state of Georgia to attend or conduct any type of deposition, case evaluations, court proceedings, ect, 
  • Ability to lift, walk with and maneuver up to 50 lbs, 
  • Capacity of sitting for long periods at a time.

 

 

 

Base Pay:

  • Base pay of $60,000 if you can support a trial lawyer to manage a caseload of 80 with the help of a part-time paralegal and a part-time scheduler.

Incentive Pay:

  • Sign on bonus: There will be a sign-on bonus at the end of the 3-month working interview of $10,000.
  • Monthly Core Values, Character, Competency and Collaboration 360 Reviews of $1,000, $800, $600, $400, $200 or $0;
  • Monthly Attendance Incentive of $1,000 to be split amongst those with perfect attendance. Show up when you say you will show up.
  • Quarterly Handling Fees Incentive (payable at next recurring pay period after each quarter) of;
    • 2.45% of litigation recovery up to $50,000;
    • 3.67% of litigation recovery above $50,000 but less than $100,000; and
    • 4.90% of litigation recovery above $100,000.
  • Jury Trial Verdict Incentive ranging from $2,500 to $25,000.
  • After completion of 2 years of service, you will be eligible for a Defined Profit Sharing. There will be a threshold of revenue and profit margin designated at the beginning of every year for the entire Firm and any profit beyond the pre-set profit will be divided amongst every Team Member in the Firm who has been here for more than 2 years weighted by Pay Grade and tenure.
