Electrical Engineering Project Manager

Power Distribution and Lighting Design! Summit Engineering, Inc. in Sonoma County, CA is seeking a professionally licensed electrical engineer with proven project management and leadership skills to join our Electrical/Lighting Division. This experienced person will utilize their professional background to provide project management and design engineering on winery, custom residential, restaurants, apartment buildings and other commercial building type projects.

As an electrical engineering project manager, you will serve as the firm’s direct contact with the client and will be responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients. You will be responsible for design team leadership, internal project organization, preparing project proposals, design engineering, scheduling and budgeting, as well as business development and generating new work for the firm. The job requires getting things done quickly, handling a variety of activities, and effectively delegating to others. Being able to purposely drive toward results while problem-solving and engaging the commitment of others is essential.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, with a concentration in power distribution or lighting design.
  • Registered Professional Electrical Engineer.
  • Minimum seven years of related project management and engineering experience.
  • Experience working with Bay Area/Northern California clients a plus.
  • Experience managing and mentoring technical staff.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to oversee the work of others and delegate work effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and budgets, and meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to coordinate in-house and/or external consultant-based design teams.
  • Experience in business development with proven expertise in relationship building.
  • Understands the capabilities and demonstrates a working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Technical competency in design and engineering for the following technical areas:
  • Power distribution systems (480V and below)
  • Coordination of electrical utility company services
  • Short circuit analysis
  • Emergency power distribution systems
  • Lighting design
  • Lighting control systems
  • Title 24 Lighting
  • Telephone/data systems design

 

Salary Range: $120,000 to $160,000

Summit Engineering has been voted as a “Best Places to Work” sixteen times. We work a 9/80 schedule, which means you have every other Friday off. Employees also have the option to work from home one day a week (after 90-days).
