IT SAP SSC - Summer Internship

Zekelman Industries is seeking an IT SAP Intern located at our corporate headquarters in downtown Chicago.  Reporting to the SAP Solution Center Manager, this person will learn the ropes in application support and consulting with an emphasis on delivering excellent customer service. Primary activities include triage and resolution of support and enhancement requests for internal customers in multiple SAP ECC 6.0 instances across multiple business units and functions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The candidate will provide general helpdesk support by creating incidents in Service-Now, communication to users for getting additional information, collaborate with SAP Solution team members for the escalation, or providing a solution.
  • Under general supervision, the candidate will provide Tier 1 user support by basic troubleshooting, reviewing existing documentation, preparing, and providing user documentation.
  • Respond to requests via email, MS Teams messages, phone, Service-Now etc. about the status of an incident. 
  • Monitor unassigned incidents in Service-Now, obtain additional information and log into the incident, route or escalate it to functional SME or the manager as needed.
  • Analyze and document the business processes, stay abreast of the myriads of technologies and applications Zekelman has been using for day-to-day business operation.
  • Help other SAP Solution Center functional SME’s in testing SAP functionalities, document the testing, learn the processes and share the experience.
  • Review existing documentation related to user manual, IT process documents, KB’s and advise for any changes or update as needed.
  • Assist our Zekelman business users in SAP login issues by unlocking the user or resetting password.
  • Handle Tier 1 related issues in SAP security, such as submitting SAP t. code access request in the Secure-pro, new SAP user request, unlocking the user in SAP, resetting password etc.
  • Troubleshoot simple SAP issues such as output not triggered from SAP to user’s outlook, printing output from SAP, system outage etc.
  • Basic SAP navigation to analyze master data and transactional data to investigate root cause in the test environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current College student pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or any discipline.
  • Previous experience or exposure in SAP environment, training or certification preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.).
