Internship – Social Media Content Creation (Spring 2024)

Spring 2024 Semester:

JOB SUMMARY: Intern will get a deep introduction into how a Fortune 500 Enterprise Company manages their social media channels, digital communities, and business organization. They will participate in strategizing and campaign planning and will spend many hours working on community management and content creation. Intern will learn how to build social media strategies, execute communication plans, and create strategic content that are platform-first across social media channels and business segments such as Halloween Horror Nights, Mardi Gras, Holidays, Universal Orlando Annual Passholders/FL Residents, etc.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with content creation for owned social media channels with oversight from leadership.
  • Manages digital community engagement and assists with social media moderation to maintain brand standards.
  • Supports campaign conception, creation, and publishing.
  • Attends meetings and brainstorms with leadership to gain industry and business insights. 
  • Assists with content capture for on-going scheduled campaigns and events. 
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION: 

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred. 
  • An official transcript may be required upon request. 
  • Preferred majors include: Film, Advertising, Communications, Marketing, or similar.

 

EXPERIENCE: Prior internship experience related to position is preferred.



ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:

  • Content Creation experience required
  • Experience in video creation and editing, photography, copywriting, journalism, social media community management, and TikTok preferred.
  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
  • Consistent attendance.

  • This internship will be a hybrid experience, based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than April 2024.
  • Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
