Internship – Attractions Operations Administration & Logistics, Epic Universe (Spring 2024)

Spring 2024 Semester:

JOB SUMMARY: Intern will focus on collaborating with the New Attractions Development Leadership Team to support the preparations and operations of Attractions commissioning efforts and attractions project development at Epic Universe. During this phase of project development, the intern will work closely with the New Attractions Development Management Team to acquire and refine leadership, planning, and collaboration skills while actively participating in the Attractions Commissioning process and project planning. The intern's role is integral to the successful commissioning of attractions at Epic Universe. They will gain valuable experience in leadership, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration while contributing to the overall success of the project. 


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partners closely with various stakeholders, commissioning Team Members, Team Captains, and Management. 
  • Coordinates the procurement, distribution, organization, and inventory management of essential supplies required for the commissioning process. 
  • Supports Team Member satisfaction efforts, safety initiatives, and training initiatives set forth by the Leadership team. 
  • Collaborates with other departments such as Universal Creative and Technical Services to coordinate commissioning and testing activities. 
  • Learns the intricacies of the Team Captain role and various Leadership roles. 
  • Attends project meetings for supply management, interdepartmental collaboration, project management support, and other tasks as assigned. 
  • Assists with tasks both on and off the active construction/project site. 
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION: 

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred. 
  • An official transcript may be required upon request. 
  • Preferred majors include: Hospitality Management. 
  • Preferred coursework completed: Project Management, Communications, Leadership, or Hospitality.

 

EXPERIENCE: Prior attractions operations or internship experience related to position is preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:

  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
  • Consistent attendance.

  • This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than April 2024.
  • Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
