2024 Institutional Sales & Relationship Management Internship

Our Institutional Sales & Relationship Management team develops and nurtures long-term relationships with informed equity and fixed income investors who understand and appreciate BBH’s investment approach. Clients and prospects include institutions, companies, financial intermediaries, and substantial investors from around the globe. Our daily activities include: 

  • Meeting with current clients, providing regular and ad hoc reporting on investment performance, sharing financial market insights and discussing needs that BBH can meet with current or potential future investment strategies 
  • Prospecting for potential future clients (institutions, family offices, private wealth management, intermediaries, consultants) about their portfolio needs and our investment strategies with the goal of finding like-minded individuals that can become future clients of the Firm 
  • Partnering with colleagues in adjacent functions (e.g., portfolio management, technology, client reporting, risk/compliance, collateral management) to meet client, prospect, stakeholder and regulatory needs

What can you expect from an Internship with BBH’s Sales & Relationship Management team?

  • Supporting Relationship Managers and Business Development Officers in managing the day to day activities of a dedicated client base and ensuring that client needs are being met and that BBH services are properly delivered
  • Exposure to outstanding equity and fixed income investment expertise with unique opportunity to learn about investment markets and products
  • Supporting account maintenance activities to ensure that all investment transactions are flawlessly executed and properly documented
  • Support the research of client accounts and transaction records to help resolve discrepancies
  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for client meetings
  • Learn how to troubleshoot client account issues such as portfolio reporting/activity and support client data requests 

 

What BBH’s Institutional Sales & Relationship Management group looks for in an intern:

  • Currently a junior in college, entering senior year in Fall of 2024
  • Strong academic achievement as evidenced through a GPA of 3.3 or higher
  • Demonstrated leadership skills through academic and extracurricular activities
  • An understanding of the financial industry and knowledge of security markets (equities and fixed income)
  • Interest in financial markets and economics coupled with an understanding of financial services 
  • Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
  • Outstanding client service skills and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Sound judgment and demonstrated ability to identify, escalate and resolve a problem
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Demonstrated passion for teamwork and shared success
  • PC proficiency, specifically in MS Office
