Job Description And Duties

The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation is recruiting for one permanent, full-time Office Technician (Typing) position in the Legal Division's Securities & Regulations Unit. This position is to be located in the Sacramento, San Francisco, or Los Angeles. This recruitment may be used to fill subsequent vacancies within the next 180 days.

Under the general supervision of the Staff Services Manager I, the Office Technician (Typing) is responsible for providing general support, document preparation, and record keeping for the Securities Regulation section of the Legal Division. The incumbent will receive, and process assigned franchise or securities applications or exemption notices, advertisements, and responses on a daily basis according to the Securities & Regulations Unit’s support staff’s policies and procedures in order to create and maintain an accurate record of filings in DocQNet. The incumbent will create and send notification of deficient filings to notice filers using the approved template and in accordance with the SRD’s support staff policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: Two years of experience in typing and clerical work. [Academic education above the twelfth grade may be substituted for one year of the required general experience on the basis of either (a) one year of general education being equivalent to three months of experience; or (b) one year of education of a business or commercial nature being equivalent to six months of experience. Students who are enrolled in the last semester or its equivalent of course work, which upon completion will fulfill these requirements, will be admitted to the examination, but they must submit evidence of completion before they can be considered for appointment.]
