Clean Transportation Assistant Coordinator
As the Clean Transportation Assistant Coordinator, you will implement existing programs and initiatives that aim to get people out of single-occupancy vehicles and into sustainable, low-carbon modes of transportation like walking, biking, and public transit. You will collaborate with SF Environment staff, stakeholders at other City Departments, and external partners to implement the 2019 Citywide Electric Vehicle Roadmap, the 2021 Climate Action Plan, and State-wide goals and objectives related to low-carbon transportation modes and emerging mobility. You will also assist in data analysis and reporting, and explore and develop innovative policies, programs, and special projects to help the City reach its clean transportation objectives.
Job Duties

- Facilitate awareness-building and outreach on low-carbon transportation options and benefits by developing and conducting outreach and/or education campaigns and staffing special events, tabling, and stakeholder and public presentations.
- Research, analyze, and report on a wide range of clean transportation topics and policy issues; provide policy and strategic recommendations; and assist with the development of draft language for legislation.
- Support clean transportation, transportation demand management, and electrification strategy, planning, goal setting, impact tracking, and new program and project development.
- Perform day-to-day program implementation, customer service, and outreach on a variety of clean transportation initiatives including the City and County of San Francisco’s Commuter Benefits Program, comprising a range of sustainable transportation services and resources for City employees, and the County-wide Emergency Ride Home program.
- Provide customer support and technical assistance to businesses and other stakeholders regarding compliance with clean transportation ordinances, including San Francisco’s Commuter Benefits Ordinance and Tenant Bicycle Parking in Existing Commercial Buildings Ordinance.
- Engage and work collaboratively with interdepartmental City staff, technical experts, industry organizations, local and state authorities, advocates, community-based organizations, San Francisco businesses and residents, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and respond to transportation- and program-related inquiries, requests, and outreach via phone, email, and department website(s); maintain and improve online dashboards and other program content.
- Support fundraising activities and grant proposals, including identifying funding opportunities, grant writing, requesting letters of support/commitment, etc.
- Perform administrative support and other duties and tasks related to those described above, including supporting related transportation and environmental program areas, as assigned.
