The Office of the New York State Attorney General’s (OAG) Human Resources Management Bureau is seeking a highly collaborative individual with experience providing human resources guidance to managers and employees to serve as an Employee Relations Manager. The Employee Relations Manager will report to the Director of Human Resources and work in partnership with the Office of General Counsel, Equal Employment Opportunity Office, and Office of Diversity & Inclusion.
Duties of the Employee Relations Manager will include but not be limited to the following:
- Resolve workplace issues in a way that promotes a fair, equitable, and inclusive workplace, with an emphasis on conflict resolution.
- Investigate misconduct allegations through a consistent application of internal investigation best practices.
- Administer the performance evaluation process for attorneys, investigators, and other professional staff, and look for ways to continuously improve and automate the evaluation process.
- Design and lead formal and informal training for managers on addressing workplace concerns, performance management, and other ad hoc trainings.
- Leading other projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications for the Employee Relations Manager are as follows:
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience investigating and resolving allegations of misconduct.
- Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of employment related federal and state laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to implement an initiative or resolve an issue from start to finish.
- Customer experience focus and mindset; ability to create solutions that positively impact the way people perform.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities at one time.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to manage highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion, sensitivity, and integrity.
The annual salary for this position is $111,480 - $138,424 + $3,087 in location pay. The final salary will be set after a complete evaluation of the selected candidate’s qualifications .We offer a comprehensive New York State benefits package, including paid leave, health, dental, vision and retirement benefits, and family-friendly policies.
