
Director, Public Affairs and Communications
Napa Valley College is seeking an individual with demonstrated administrative skills to join an outstanding team of faculty, staff, and administrators to provide high quality programs and services to our district, our community, and most importantly, our students. In support of the Napa Valley College District's mission, the Public Affairs and Communications department creates awareness and shares the story of Napa Valley College and its impact on the community. The team develops and executes strategic marketing communications campaigns, implements the district's governmental relations; and serves the college community by offering publicity, promotion, advertising, social media, marketing and branding support. The office also acts as a resource before, during and after emergency situations by providing guidelines and information to help manage crisis situations.
The incumbent in this position will be providing administrative and operational leadership for daily activities for the Public Affairs and Communications department; directing the development, communication and delivery of information designed to inform the community, college stakeholders and general public about college programs, events, accomplishments and services through the use of various communications media and personal contact; serving as communication liaison for the Superintendent/President; achieving defined objectives by coordinating and maintain services in compliance with rules, regulations, and established guidelines; and supervising assigned staff. This is a classified-administrative position.
This job reports to the Superintendent/President.
This is a full-time, 12-months-per-year, classified administrative position. The salary has an appropriate placement on Range 19 of the current Administrative/Confidential salary schedule. Initial salary placement is $8,466 to $9,333/month, with future steps up to $11,911/month. Placement on the salary schedule is commensurate with experience. The college offers a fringe benefit package including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, employee assistance program, and retirement system membership. Assignment includes 20 paid holidays, 22 vacation days, and 12 days sick leave annually.
